Prior to joining New Crystal, George worked with KPMG Sierra Leone, Vivo Energy (Shell Ghana Ltd) as Financial Controller, Boart Longyear Drilling Services as Contract Manager for English West Africa (Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Eritrea), RMG as CFO, and as Finance and Commercial Superintendent (an expatriate role) at Shangdon Mining (African Mineral SL Ltd) in Sierra Leone.
He has over 18 years of working experience across various industries, including a Mine-Rail-Port-Marine value-chain firm (expatriate role), reinsurance, oil and gas, agribusiness, construction, banking, mining, maritime/shore handling, as well as donor-funded projects such as IFAD, EU, DFID, KfW, and government-funded projects.
His excellence in financial management, financial reporting, accounting, auditing, cost and budgeting, and risk management is complemented by strong commercial, operational/contract management skills, close proximity to operations, people management competencies, and extensive boardroom experience, which make him stand out.
Additionally, George has exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley, SAP, SUN, ACCPAC, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), and Lucanet. As the Project Lead during the development and implementation of the latest SAP system (S4Hana for Shell/Vivo Energy Ltd), he expertly led and managed his OU team (Ghana) from inception to the “Go-Live” phase with near perfection.
He is a Fellow of ACCA (UK), holds an MBA (UK), and is a member of ICAG. Having trained and worked in the UK, US, Switzerland, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Eritrea, George brings high integrity, ethics, emotional intelligence, and a quality leadership style to culturally sensitive and highly confidential environments. He is now a proud member of the team driving New Crystal Hospital to an enviable position within the health sector fraternity.
