That effective service delivery in healthcare requires collaboration between health workers, patients/clients, and society? The attainment of optimal healthcare is, therefore, a team effort that requires the cooperation and the collaboration of the patient, their families, the health professionals and the society.
Health professionals must be sensitive to patient’s socio-cultural and religious backgrounds, age, gender and other differences as well as the needs of patients with disabilities. Every patient must be treated with dignity and respect just like the health professional would like to be treated if the tables were turned.
The patients and their families should also accord health professionals the necessary courtesy and respect just as they too like to be treated if the tables were turned.
Patients, health professionals, and the society are all important stakeholders in our collective quest for wellness. Let’s complement each other.
